Terms of Service

Effective April 15, 2026

The service

Briefly is a platform that helps you convert private research, conversations, and notes into clean, focused briefs. You can share a brief with a trusted person, or keep it for yourself. Briefly is operated at sharebriefly.com.

By creating an account or using Briefly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Account eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Briefly. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide during registration is accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Briefly to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that infringes on another person’s intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent any security, access control, or rate limiting feature.
  • Use automated means (scrapers, bots, scripts) to access the platform beyond what is permitted by our published API.
  • Resell or sublicense access to Briefly without written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice at our sole discretion.

Your content

You own your research, notes, and briefs. Briefly does not claim any ownership over content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store it for the sole purpose of operating the service for you.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit any content you provide to Briefly, including content copied from third-party AI tools or other sources.

AI processing

Briefly uses AI models (currently Anthropic’s Claude) to analyze your submitted content and generate briefs. By using Briefly, you acknowledge and consent to this processing.

AI-generated content is produced algorithmically. We do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated brief before sharing it with anyone.

Your content is processed through Anthropic’s API. Under Anthropic’s default API terms, content submitted via the API is not used to train their models. We do not opt into any training programs.

Sharing and consent

Briefly is built around explicit consent. Nothing reaches a recipient without your deliberate approval. You are responsible for using this control responsibly — including ensuring you have permission to share information about third parties mentioned in your research or briefs.

Availability

We operate Briefly on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability. Free-tier accounts do not receive service level agreements. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.

Pricing and billing

Free accounts include a limited number of briefs per month as described on our pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to current subscribers delivered by email.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@sharebriefly.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use Briefly ends immediately. Data deletion follows the process described in our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Briefly and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Briefly shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.

Disclaimer of warranties

Briefly is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Briefly after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
